Origin:  Great Karoo, South Africa

Heat & Frost Tolerance:  Heat tolerant.  Afternoon shade in heat of summer.  Protect from frosts and freezes.  If you see little freckles that means its getting too much sun.

Growing Habits:  Up to 8" tall and 5" or so in diameter.  Flowers are dioecious, meaning they either flower male or female blooms.  One of each is required for seed.

Average Growth Rate:  around an 1" or 2" per year

Bloom:  Small appearing at the crown of the plant in a circular pattern.  Seedpods will 'shoot' themselves into other pots should you not be there to catch it when it springs.  Make a tape cap for it to pop into and stick on if you can't wait around.
